Meet The Founder of It's The Sweet Things - Chef Jennifer Worthley

Chef Jennifer Worthley

Hi, I’m Jennifer Worthley

It's The Sweet Things started as a Cottage kitchen bakery in 2018 with café pastries for the coffee shop that I owned with family and custom cakes here and there. In 2020 I moved into commercial kitchen spaces and picked up 2 more accounts with café style pastries and did my best to weather the storm. In 2021 we started seeing some celebrations again - but nowhere near the size they used to be.

After keeping my business alive through the pandemic, I decided to take a leap of faith and move into the downtown Bellingham storefront, where you can now find treats from It's The Sweet Things four days a week without having to place an advanced order. Nothing means more to me than being able to share my passion, gift and training with the community around me, and I am so grateful that I get to do that each and every day!

It wasn't until I enrolled in the Pastry Arts Program at Bellingham Technical College that I realized my true calling.  The knowledge I have gained through the Pastry Arts Program has turned baking into a lifestyle choice.  I love the room for creativity as well as the ability to truly personalize each and every project that I am fortunate enough to be a part of.

Bringing Joy with Every Bite

Whether it be a variety of breakfast pastries to brighten up an early morning employee meeting, a beautiful tiered cake with fresh flowers to celebrate magical moments in life, or a 1/2 dozen cupcakes getting picked up on the way home for the family, I love making someone's day a little brighter with delicious treats!
